This learning paper aims to provide insight relating to the impact of ongoing climatic shocks and the positive impact of resilience building initiatives in Matabeleland South and Masvingo Provinces in Zimbabwe.  The 2018 drought and Cyclone Idai in 2019 caused devastating impacts on lives and livelihoods of vulnerable communities.  However, resilience building initiatives implemented in these communities minimised the impacts.
