Emergency Field Handbook

The handbook is structured around UNICEF’s Core Commitments for Children in Emergencies, but does not reflect the most recent changes to that document. The Core Commitments outline the organization’s role in providing protection and assistance to children and women. They make a distinction between life-saving interventions that should be carried out immediately (within the first 6–8 weeks of any crisis) and the broader spectrum of essential activities that may be added once an initial response is well established.
