Launched in 2012 as part of UNHCR’s cash assessment programme, the Home Visit project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the assistance given to Syrian refugees living outside the UNHCR camps. It will provide a detailed picture of the needs, vulnerabilities and capacities of the Syrian refugees living in urban and rural settings. Between March 2012 and October 2013, 61823 home visits were conducted by a team of 250 Jordanian enumerators trained by International Relief and Development (IRD) and UNHCR. The data collected is intended to help the international humanitarian community and the Government of Jordan to better adapt their policies.
