Evaluations are expected to be useful and purposeful. We expect evaluation findings to generate relevant recommendations that are then acted upon by decision-makers. Consequently, when evaluations disappoint organisations’ expectations today, such disappointment often stems from a perceived lack of use of findings and recommendations. Putting the evaluations in the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) to the test, this Evaluation and Learning Brief looks at what actions have taken place as a result of recommendations from six Real Time Reviews performed by DRC between 2014 and 2016. The findings presented form part of a study that DRC has initiated to assess the utilisation of evaluations in DRC.
