A combination of geography, size and deep people-to-people links means the development trajectory of the Philippines is important to Australia's national interest. Australia provided an estimated $85.4 million in official development assistance to the Philippines in 2018-19. Of this, approximately $67 million was bilateral funding managed by DFAT. Australia's development partnership with the Philippines seeks to promote the foundations for economic growth; build stronger institutions for transparent and accountable governance; and improve the conditions for peace and stability.

This report summarises the performance of Australia's development program in the Philippines from July 2018 to June 2019 based on the objectives of the Philippines Aid Investment Plan 2015 to 2018. The report bridges the transition to a new Philippines Aid Investment Plan 2020-2025.
