This Review was the fifth stage of an ongoing impact study process that is now an integrated part of the WatSan program cycle in DPRK. The Impact Study Review has a number of objectives;
1. To assess the functionality of completed water and sanitation installations some years after they have been handed over to the communities
2. To assess the impact that the water and sanitation installations are having on the health and lifestyle of the community people
3. To identify technical weaknesses in the systems and, where required, provide replacement parts to improve their functionality
4. To provide an accessible and transparent evaluation of the completed installations for existing and future project partners
5. To contribute to the process of continuous improvement in the implementation of future water and sanitation systems by the DPRK WatSan unit.
This fifth stage completes the evaluation of the communities covered in the first three phases of the DPRK WatSan community based program.
