Sustainable Livelihoods Approaches in Urban Area: General Lessons, with Illustrations from Indian Case Studies

Reducing poverty in urban areas is likely to become an increasingly important task for governments and development agencies in the coming decades. This paper suggests there is compelling rationale for the use of Sustainable Livelihoods approaches in urban poverty over the coming years.
