ACF has been operational in Garbatulla District since February 2010. Since then, the agency has been undertaking an integrated programme that encompasses nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water, sanitation and hygiene. The nutrition programme mainly focuses on high Impact Nutrition Indicators (HINI) for sustainable impact. The main approach employed by the programme is capacity building. As such, the agency closely works with and along the ministry of health and ministry of public health and sanitation in the implementation of all its nutrition programmes.

ACF deemed it necessary to undertake a coverage assessment using the SQUEAC methodology in March 2012 with the following objectives: to provide a clear baseline of its programmes using an approved methodology; and to develop feasible recommendations based on assessment findings.
