Palestinian refugees entering Lebanon from Syria have particular needs and vulnerabilities vis-a`-vis the general Syrian refugee population. In January 2013, ANERA (American Near East Refugee Aid) partnered with the National Institute of Social Care and Vocational Training (NISCVT) to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment in order to identify the specific needs of this sub-population and to compile accurate baseline data on which to base ANERA's response in coordination with other organisations.

This assessment aimed at a broad range of issues, including demographic and displacement history, shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene, food and nutrition, education, health, and livelihoods.
