Since April 2012, Amel has launched a Syrian Refugees Emergency Response, consisting of direct health, education and distribution support to Syrians who have fled their country to Lebanon. The support of international organizations and UN agencies allowed for a great extension of this program, with over 13 community centers in Beirut, Bekka and South Lebanon specifically targeting refugees and their host communities.

One of the mail lessons learned is the importance of rehabilitation and reconstruction as well as the inclusion of all stakeholders during major humanitarian response.
