Child participation and psychosocial
support
Participation is one of the key principles of psychosocial
support. Indeed it could be argued that, to some extent,
they are two sides of a coin. It is through getting involved
that children:
• Enhance their resilience and decrease their vulnerability
• Discover and develop their talents
• Discover and enhance their own strengths
• Are able to overcome many of their psychosocial challenges.
