In 2016, the UN is hosting a World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul. Its purpose is to gain international agreement on new directions in humanitarian policy and practice to help people suffering in armed conflicts and disasters. A commitment to humanitarian innovations is at the heart of the consultation process leading up to the Summit.
