This paper provides the information about the food assistance projects 2010 in Malawi. WFP began assisting refugees in Malawi in 2001 following a joint WFP, UNHCR and Government assessment which revealed over 5,000 refugees in the country. In line with the universal Memorandum of Understanding signed between WFP and UNHCR, WFP Malawi began food assistance to refugees in 2002, at the Dzaleka Refugee Camp under an emergency operation.
After the emergency operation concluded, additional projects were initiated to ensure continued food support to this vulnerable group..
