An ECHO-funded project entitled "Food Aid and Livelihood Disaster Prevention to the most dzud-affected herders in Mongolia" was implemented by ACF in July to November 2010 in Uvs Province. The project’s principal and specific objectives were respectively to: (i) prevent nutritional status deterioration, protect the remaining productive assets of vulnerable populations in Uvs Province and facilitate national food aid coordination. (ii) support vulnerable herders’ recovery and winter preparedness through (a) ensuring they have adequate access to food and animal feed and (b) assisting the ad hoc emergency food aid cluster in Mongolia.
