ACF mobilised an emergency response to aid the victims of political and ethnic violence, which caused large scale internal and external displacement in early April 2011. Seven projects were developed on the basis of rapid assessments and consultations with key stake holders in western RCI - specifically in the regions of Moyen Cavally and 18 Montagnes. The seven intervention were planned in the following areas: Nutrition - the treatment of acute malnutrition among children from 0-59 months; Food Security - the provision of temporary cash and voucher assistance to vulnerable households to for the purchase of food, and for agricultural recovery; and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) - construction and/or rehabilitation of infrastructure for IDP sites and health/nutrition facilities, village latrine rehabilitation and well disinfection, and the provision of water treatment and hygiene kits to vulnerable households. The evaluation was conducted by one external evaluator over 25 days, from 20 October through 15 November 2011.
