The overall objective of the ACF Evaluation Policy is to maximise the use of evaluations findings at all levels of ACF, including field, HQ and the (ACF) International Network as a whole. The Policy is also designed to ensure greater consistency and quality across individual evaluations by avoiding the constant (re)design of evaluative frameworks. In doing so, it ensures the use of common standards across ACF programmes, regardless of their nature or location.

The ACF Evaluation Policy seeks to balance common practices, trends and humanitarian standards in the wider sector, with the unique identity, expertise and approaches of ACF. Whilst the ACF Evaluation Policy acknowledges current thinking in humanitarian practice, it ultimately advocates for an evaluation approach that is unique to ACF.
