Most studies on the effect of an interviewer's gender have focused on questions dealing with sexual behaviour and gender roles, as well as on response rates; only a few have focused on political questions. Results from these analyses have been mixed on whether there is an effect, and if so, in what direction. This study found that male respondents in Mexico City, but not outside it, appear to have been more susceptible to gender-of-interview effects.
