Disaster Risk Reduction Member Activity Report

Numerous empirical research studies have delineated the benefits of Disaster Risk Reduction. Moreover, the Hyogo Framework for Action provides a guide outlining five priority actions for DRR to organizations and governments. The following pages of this Member Activity Report document the concrete actions being taken by twenty three InterAction members to turn these DRR concepts into practical realities. Their combined efforts are creating a global impact as they work in collaboration with local and international NGOS, civil society groups, various stakeholders, and governments to make the world a safer and more secure place through sound DRR policy and practice.

Urbanization is highlighted as a key issue throughout the report and many of the member activities are conducted with urban communities.
