A Rights-Based Approach to Emergencies: Setting the Scene

The purpose of this bulletin is two-fold:
! To provide ActionAid staff with a basic introduction to
the subject, outlining the major issues and debates
around rights-based approaches in emergency
practice
! To encourage a process of intra- and interorganisational
debate aimed at improving our
knowledge and capacity around human rights issues
and humanitarian law within a rights-based framework
