This is the opening session of the 2020 ALNAP Meeting.

COVID-19 has brought with it an unprecedented climate of uncertainty. The ALNAP Annual Meeting in 2021 will explore the challenges posed by uncertainty and the ways in which humanitarians can better equip themselves to respond within this context. Discussions from the Curtain Raiser will inform new ALNAP research on uncertainty as well as further discussions in the 2021 event.

ALNAP would like to give thanks to the speakers and panelists who contributed to the curtain raiser. In this video you will see a Eilidh Kennedy (Director, Inter-Agency Research and Analysis Network) and Aarathi Krishnan (Strategy & Foresight Advisor, UNDP) in conversation with Alice Obrecht (Head of Research & Impact, ALNAP). There are also pre-recorded video interviews from Lilian Lekoo, Mark Lowcock (UN USG for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator), Cynth Zephanee N. Nietes (Young Women Leaders for Peace, GNWP, and President, SK Foundation) and Maria Dmytriyeva (Gender Specialist/Trainer at Democracy Development Center, Ukraine).
