Disaster Risk Management Research and Training Strategy (2022 -2037)

Evolving disaster landscapes require comprehensive strategies that are data-driven. The Ethiopian Disaster Management Commission (EDRMC) is ensuring sufficient research, training, infrastructure, and resources to foster a sustainable and effective disaster risk management (DRM) system. The strategy was developed to support and unify research and training priorities with all DRM actors in Ethiopia. It also provides support to mobilize resources, identify limitations and gaps, and improve evidence-based development of new strategies that address changing needs of the country. ARISE project was implemented by the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) in partnership with the Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission (EDRMC) and with financial support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (the foundation).
