RedR Security Incident Information Management: Online training for security staff

The Security Incident Information Mangement project (SIIM) is a collaboration between RedR, Insecurity Insight and EISF. It is funded by EU Humanitarian aid and aims to strengthen humanitarian responses to crises by building the capacity of NGOs to undertake speedier security related information management and sharing through the Security in Numbers database (SiND) which is part of Insecurity Insight’s Aid in Danger project.
This course is an output of the project.

ABOUT THE COURSEThe course looks at how organisations can improve their security incident information management system and incident preparedness, focusing on: 

Informing immediate responses to incidents

Implementing lessons learned for a better prevention

Using data to better understand the humanitarian security context.

Using data to inform decision making at organisation level


Session content, discussions, coordinated activities and group work will reinforce participant’s knowledge, skills and competencies on: collection, reporting, recording, analysis, use, and sharing of security incident information. 

LEARNING METHODS
The format of the 4 session learning programme encourages participants to set targets and reflect on their progress whilst “on the job,” as part of a coherent and high-quality staff development programme. 

3-4 hours a week for 4 weeks, will commence on the 23 October

Delivered online for maximum convenience

Participatory approach involving group work, live presentations every Wednesday and discussion.


WHO IS THE COURSE FOR 

Aid agency staff involved in incident reporting: national security staff, regional security staff and any others whose involvement would benefit headquarter level SFPs.

The training is open to all, with a view that those who participate will contribute to the Security in Numbers Database managed by Insecurity Insight.
