This report aims to provide insight into monitoring and evaluation strategies for climate change adaptation in development interventions. In the race to counter the effects of climate change, mitigation has long been on international policy agendas. However, adaptation has increasingly been recognised as important, and this was solidified at the COP 21 agreement in Paris in 2015. The Paris Agreement stresses that international climate policies should aim at climate change adaptation, and target how people and places can adapt to the effects of a changing climate. The acknowledgement that climate change impacts are being observed and are expected to aggravate, has elevated the role of adaptation in the effort to contend with climate change.
