About this Event

The world is becoming increasingly urban, and, at the same time, our cities are more stressed than ever with challenges such as climate change and the global pandemic exacerbating existing inequalities and stressing infrastructure. Supporting local actors to undertake urban resilience activities in their urban communities can be a powerful way to build social cohesion, improve livelihoods, and make cities more livable.

The Climate Centre and partners have developed an Urban Action Kit to do just this. It is a quick start, low-cost, do-it-yourself guide to urban resilience. Activities in the Kit require little to no funding, are short engagements and utilise existing networks and skills. The Kit contains a light introduction to urban concepts, followed by a series of 5 modules on: Creative Communications, Nature-based Solutions, WASH, Urban Agriculture, Early Warning Early action and Liveable Cities.

This webinar will bring together a panel of experts to share their ideas on how to catalyse local action in cities in order to strengthen resilience. This will include launching the Urban Action Kit and sharing local urban resilience initiatives of city networks and partners.
