This evaluation assesses ACF's urban garden programme "An Integrated Approach to Reduce Levels of Malnutrition in Urban Areas of Masvingo District, Masvingo, Zimbabwe". The report identifies the water component of this project as the cornerstone of the entire intervention. A successful resolve of the water shortage challenges of this project area go well beyond simply addressing water availability. Any resolution to the problem must be cost-effective in terms of sustainability and replicability. Potential bidders for the provision of essential services and/or goods, such as water, should be pre-qualified. The report finds that ACF was able to successfully implement an integrated food security intervention focusing on the most vulnerable of Masvingo City. City Government was an invaluable stakeholder, with the hopes being that continuation or expansion of this or similar interventions for the yet unreached vulnerable of Masvingo, will meet with enthusiasm, cooperation, and assistance by local political and government leadership.
