An ACF external evaluation of a comprehensive intervention implemented under the LRRD approach (Linking Relief Rehabilitation and Development) in Daykundi, Afghanistan between 2010 and 2013. It looked for the sustainable strengthening of family agriculture production both in quantity and diversity, and for the improvement of food utilisation. The strengthening of family production is expected through the improvement of access to water for irrigation (water infrastructures rehabilitation), the improvement of access to quality seeds (direct distribution and set-up of a seed production system in the area), the improvement of access to veterinary drugs and services (animal hygiene kits distribution, and link with state veterinary services), and the development of farmers’ practices (set up of Farmers Field School).
