This short paper on UN-NGO funding partnerships focuses on one component of the broader and generally accepted approach, supported by all of us, that donors “Practice diversity in the use of funding tools”.

We, as NGOs working in the humanitarian sector, would like to put forward a number of concrete recommendations based on our combined experience of good practice and challenges in funding partnerships with UN agencies. We recognise that many of the recommendations are already in place in certain contexts and that good examples of UN-NGO partnerships exist. In the spirit of the “Principles of Partnership”, we would like to build on this good practice jointly with UN agencies, in order to ensure that we as a humanitarian community are providing the best service we can to the people at risk on the ground.
