Performance Management: It’s the Results that Count

The real question is: Will performance management be an impediment or a contributor to
good governance, good government and the renewal of public administration over the
coming years?

Despite the progress to date, performance management is not currently well-positioned to
improve decision-making in government or to improve results by creating higher net
public value. In a word, performance management and performance measurement
systems in the public sector are underperforming.
