In Puerto Cortés, located in San Pedro Sula - Honduras, the method Escuelas Protegidas (Protected Schools) from the “Is better to prevent” series has been used over the last four years to prepare children and member of the educational community from four schools for potential situations of risk in the education centres. The Protected School method was implemented in Escuela Francisco Morazán de Baracoa, Escuela República de Chile, Escuela San Martín, and Escuela Ramón Rosa. In addition to the work carried out by the Honduran Red Cross utilizing the aforementioned methodology, the Ministry of Education has included risk management as part of the curriculum.
