This study considered the effect of the interviewer’s relative body weight, as measured by the body mass index (BMI), on interviewees’ responses to questions on restrictive eating behaviours, such as skipping meals and fasting. It found that interview BMI affected responses from dieters, whereas non-dieter’s response were more conditioned by their own BMI than that of the interviewer.
