All components of DG ECHO assistance for refugees were found to be appropriate, although sometimes at varying levels, which was mostly due to local political constraints.

Cash assistance appears as the most appropriate form of aid for the vulnerable in an urban context.

Support to psycho-social assistance was particularly important. Partner organizations estimate e.g. that half of the overall refugee population and all of the children have been psychologically affected to varying degrees.
