 This note highlights the principal lessons drawn from evaluations of the response to Hurricane Mitch, as well as other missions following natural disasters in Africa and Asia. It is prepared so that actors engaged in international assistance following the disaster of 26th December 2004 in south and south-east Asia might be able to act on these lessons.
