To provide the foundation for a targeted humanitarian response for the recovery and rehabilitation of Nias and Simeulue, following the dual 9.0 and 8.7 earthquakes, IOM conducted a needs and aspirations assessment covering 20 and 5 sub-districts respectively. This comprehensive assessment was structured to assess both the needs and aspirations of the affected communities and will inform IOM’s recovery and rehabilitation strategies for the islands focusing on livelihoods.
