The paper assesses the effectiveness/relevance of the Disaster Preparedness Programme in the three countries by determining the extent to which the DPP meets its original objectives, documenting lessons learned over the past three years, and identifying differences and similarities about the way DPP is carried out in these countries. To identify improvement areas for disaster preparedness that relate to the specific capacities of the National Societies at various levels as well as to the communities involved. To prepare groundwork for a broader evaluation of the DPP at the regional level.
