Rapid Environmental Impact Assessment Project Phase II Evaluation

Objectives: To expand the practical understanding and use of the REA through workshops,expansion of training products, and an increase in the number of trainers and outlets providing REA training; To improve the impact of disaster response operations by providing real-time field support for the use of the REA in major disasters and integrating the REA process into other assessment procedures. The intent is to incorporate disaster-environment issues into assessment, planning and operational activities during major disasters leading to improved relief operations, and to link REA procedures and outputs to other sectoral disaster assessment procedures.
