Developing and strengthening locally led and collaborative approaches to address climate impacts that amplify the voices of at-risk communities and ensures accountability to crisis-affected populations, is a critical step towards improved humanitarian outcomes and community resilience. Localisation of humanitarian action, and locally led climate adaptation (LLA) are two key means of supporting these objectives – yet in practice, there is a gap in leveraging their mutual complementarities to better support needs.

This study explores the interaction between, and mutual complementarity of, LLA and humanitarian localisation to support climate, humanitarian and development actors, policymakers and funders to consider how to more closely align these approaches and produce better outcomes for at-risk communities.
