Passionate about humanitarian evaluation? Take part in advisory group for our OECD DAC guidance revision

04 Feb 2021

ALNAP is delighted to announce that we will revise our popular guidance Evaluating humanitarian action using the OECD DAC criteria. To that end, we are seeking to set up an advisory group to contribute expertise, knowledge and suggestions to the process.

Although it was published 15 years ago, this guidance document remains one of our most downloaded resources. Yet important changes in humanitarian action and evaluation practice have taken place since its publication in 2006 (the move away from linear log frames, greater emphasis on adaptive management, wider use of theories of change and complexity-aware evaluation approaches, amongst others).

We invite our Members to nominate their staff or other non-Member humanitarian evaluation practitioners and thought leaders to join the advisory group for this project.

It is important to us that the advisory group reflects a balance across the ALNAP constituencies: UN, NGO, Academic, Red Cross/Red Crescent, bilateral donors and independent evaluators. The group will help us design a broad and strong consultation process for the revision of this key ALNAP resource. We strongly encourage and welcome applicants who are based in humanitarian response settings to apply. A limited number of support bursaries will be available to selected candidates.
