Bond: Faith and Disaster Risk Reduction

Date
7 February 2024
Time
14:00 - 15:30, GMT

The Bond Resilience Learning Group and the Joint Learning Initiative are co-hosting an event on the role of Faith Communities in Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience. The meeting will be centred around Tearfund’s recent report “With You in the Storm”, that summarises the peer-reviewed evidence for the roles of Christian churches in disaster management, followed by responses from practitioners from other faiths. In light of the Sendai Framework for DRR and recent COP28 climate change talks, we want to use this as a springboard to spur discussion on the compelling need for greater inclusion of faith leaders in disaster risk reduction and management.
