Vijayalakshmi Viswanathan

Vijayalakshmi (Viji) joined ALNAP as a Senior Research Officer in 2022. She leads learning and research around locally-led humanitarian action. 

Prior to ALNAP, Viji spent 12 years as a humanitarian practitioner with a focus on disaster risk reduction. She held research and advocacy positions with a national NGO in India, and has led learning projects for other social sector organisations – both national and international – across South Asia. She has a background in communications and political science.  

Viji is passionate about action research that speaks to practitioners and unearthing learning from hidden voices.
